As data are stored in Genstat data structures, the column names (column headers) are not just another standard cell that can be edited like all others as they can in Excel. The column names represent the names of the actual data structures.
The structure names have the limitation that duplicate names cannot be used within a single spreadsheet, unlike Excel, which allows this. If you attempt to enter a name already in use, you will receive a warning message about duplicate columns.
